When Should I Schedule My Boudoir Photography Session Appointment?

I get asked this question a lot

The answer depends on a few factors! Let’s dive in!

Helping you determine the best time to schedule your shoot is part of my job! I try to keep people informed and up to date via my social media about availability, so it’s definitely important to keep up with that! In general, here are some questions to help you determine when would be best to schedule your shoot!

1. Are you wanting to give your boudoir album to someone as a gift for an event/anniversary that has a set date?

    It typically only takes me a few days to edit your photos (except in busy seasons), but it can take a few weeks to get your products back from my supplier. So, to be safe, your appointment should take place 4-6 weeks before you need your products.

2. Are you specifically wanting to give it as a Christmas gift?

   Oooh Lordy, okay. So the wait time should be about the same, but you should know that a lot of people have the same idea. October and November book up very quickly, so you should go ahead and get it scheduled as early as possible.

3. Are you in a hurry to get your shoot done?

   We usually book out a few months in advance, so it might be hard to accommodate you. We do sometimes have people reschedule, so we can occasionally squeeze people in on short notice. Long story short, don’t be afraid to ask!

Scheduling your photoshoot is pretty easy! The first step is submitting a contact form! Then we schedule a phone consultation where I give you all of the information and answer any questions you have! From there, we get you scheduled!

After that, all you need to do is pay the session fee and sign the contract! So what are you waiting for? Let’s get you scheduled!

 Whether you want to do a very natural, light makeup look or go full glam, we’ve got you covered! The style of makeup should definitely be up to the client, we want you to be in love with it! If you don’t love it, you won’t love your photos! You’re welcome to show us inspiration as far as what you’d like to do, but if you don’t really know, we can handle that too! We include hair and makeup services with our session fee for a couple of reasons.

1. This day is about you. You should be able to relax and just have fun! We don’t want you running around town, trying to make sure you get to each place on time. Just writing that sentence stressed me out. Absolutely not. Zero out of ten, do not recommend.

2. My stylists are very familiar with the lighting in the studio. They all know just how dark or light they need to go in order to make a look work. Not every lighting situation is the same and these talented artists are very good at working with the light here!

3. The time spent in the chair is time for us to get to know each other. Many of my clients are quite nervous about the prospect of being half naked in front of a stranger, which is totally a normal feeling! While you’re in the chair, we all talk and get to know each other. By the time you’re glam-ified, it’s gonna feel like you’re just hanging out with friends!

   4. I want to see my friends succeed. All of our stylists are my friends and I firmly believe that it isn’t lonely at the top if you bring your tribe with you.    Please also note, that if you want to go au naturale, that’s perfectly fine too! You don’t have to wear makeup at all if you don’t want to! But, if you do, we’ve got your back!
